There was a rare White Bird at the second floor of the apartment with a job of hopping out in the morning into the sky with the neck-tied mail pouch, and come back after delivering it to the receiver. There was no cage for the white bird, as it may affect the flying efficiency of the fowl. Everyday this fowl used to get fine nutritious grub to maintain the fitness for the daily flying.
In the ground floor of the same building there used to be a Blue Bird, and had the daily task of creeping around the ground floor, beaking the craps thrown by the general visitors and people living in the apartment, and cleaning the floor on real time. The blue bird was so much in the habit of stealthy movement that it has almost lost it’s skill of winging, and the pattern food has complimented for the same. There was no need to cage-in the Blue Bird however, the bird has the cage to safeguard itself from the other animals in the night, and when it is required in the ground floor. Everyday this Blue Bird used to see the White Bird taking off from the balcony of second floor and disappearing in the wide sky dreaming to be same one.
One fine day as usual, the White Bird got off in the morning from its hopping ramp, and never returned back. Nobody knew where the fowl gone? All efforts to search the White Bird were in vain. Soon the need for replacement has grown to urgent, as it was affecting the deliveries of the mail pouches. In the quest of the alternate, eventually ground floor Blue Bird was hired for the job. The employers were very well aware of the incompetency of the fowl, so they gave some time to the Blue Bird to practice hopping, and served the nutrient supplemented fuels for instant energy.
The very next day Blue bird was ready to launch into the sky from the same ramp. Blue Bird was very happy for its new line of work, and developed new aspirations in the heart looking at the horizon of the wide open sky. "Blue Bird was going to be White Bird soon…!!!"
Standing at the vantage point, Blue Bird saw the blue sky first and then the ground. Hardly able remember when last time the bird has seen the ground from such a height. Blue Bird was afraid and little doubtful about the plunge into open air, however the backup motivation and the cheering words from the leaders has helped the fowl to keep up the esprit. With the increased heartbeat the Blue Bird finally decided to hop. The bird set itself in the pose to provide thrust to it’s body standing on the toes, and bent the legs for the perfect launch into the space from the balcony’s railing. Blue Bird gently closed the eyes, took a deep breath and dived…
and... they lost the Blue Bird also…!!!
